The presence of crane obstacles represents a permanent and serious hazard for air navigation.
The new SF3 elevated obstruction lighting system, specifically designed for cranes, ensures that fixed or travelling cranes are visible when in situations likely to generate risks of collision, near aerodromes or heliports.
Standard obstruction lighting for tower cranes on work sites consists of three red obstruction lights designed for installation at the ends of the crane:
on the jib, the counter-jib and the tower head (in compliance with ICAO guidelines) and an electrical cabinet with a 100-hour energy reserve.
